Day
01 Late evening arrive in to Delhi
and check in to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 After breakfast sightseeing tour
of New Delhi visiting War Memorial Arch- India Gate, Parliament House, Qutab
Minar – built in 12th century & Humanyun’s Tomb. Lunch in a restraunt
outside the hotel. After lunch sightseeing tour of old Delhi, visiting the
famous Red Fort reputed to be the most magnificent palace in the world, Jama
Masjid – the second largest Mosque in the world, Rajghat, where the father
of the nation Mahatma Gandhi was cremated & Chandni Chowk the busiest
Bazaar of Old Delhi. Dinner & overnight at your hotel.
Day 03 After early breakfast leave for
Delhi Airport to connect Jet Air flight 9W- 601 for Bagdogra, arriving Bagdogra
at 1:30 PM, meet & transfer by private non- air conditioned coach (AC
coach not available) to Darjeeling about 4 hours drive. Check in to Hotel
WINDAMERE- A HERITAGE HOTEL. Dinner and over night at Hotel.
Day 04 The
day starts early at 4:00 A.M after early cup of tea/coffee we leave by jeeps
to Tiger Hill to have a view of the rising sun coming out of Mountains, when
we can have a view of Mt. KUNCHUNJUNGA and even Mt.EVEREST on a clear day.
We come back to hotel to have breakfast & after breakfast we leave for
sightseeing tour of Darjeeling, which includes a ride at TOY TRAIN. Rest of
the day free and overnight at Hotel.
Day 05 After early breakfast leave for
Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim – about 6 hours drive from Darjeeling. On arrival
check in to Hotel Tashi Delek and rest of the day free and overnight at Hotel.
Day
06 After early breakfast leave for the sightseeing tour of Gangtok,
the “LOFTY HILL” or “THE HILL MADE FLAT TO BUILT GANGTOK Monastery in 1716”.
Gangtok is a city, which till one sees it, one would believe, exists only
in picture storybooks. We visit the Royal Chapel, Tsuklakhang, is with in
the palace grounds popularly called Tuslakhang Royal. It is the principal
place of worship and assembly and the repository of a vast collection of Buddhist
scriptures. We also visit “DUL-DUL CHORTEN &JHANG CLUB CHORTEN”. Chorten
in local language means a Stupa. “DUL-DUL –CHORTEN” was built to commemorate
the victory of good over evil and the JHANG CLUB CHORTEN was built to perpetuate
the memory of great spiritualist THURL-SHIK RINPOCHE an ardent devotee of
Buddha.
We come back to hotel for lunch after lunch we visit the RESEARCH INSTITUTE
OF TIBETOLOGY. The institute is located in the serene surrounding amidst forest
of oak, ash and birch, is an organization to advance the Tibetan Language
and it’s literature on the enlightened one, the only one of it’s kind in the
world of Mahayana Buddhism. The foundation stone was laid by by the H.H. DALAI
LAMA in 1957 and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated it in 1958. We also
visit the Government Institute of cottage Industries. This institute was established
with the purpose of promoting the manufacture and sale of local handicrafts.
Thankas , hand carved wooden tables known as chokees and exquisitely woven
woolen carpets. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day
07 After breakfast we leave for Rumtek Monastery. Twenty-two
kms drive through beautiful Bewit
ching
country- side leads to Rumtek. Rumtek is the seat of the Karmapa Lama who
heads the Kagyupa Sect of Buddhism. The style of the monastery, strictly
traditional has been patterned on the lines of Lamasseries of Tibet. The
first Monastery was built in 1717 but crumbled to ruins due to aging. The
present monastery was constructed by his holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa in
1960’s. By lunch we return to hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 08 Gangtok
– Changu Lake – Gangtok
After breakfast leave for day return trip to Changu Lake, which has an average
depth of 50 ft, is situated 35 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,000
ft on the Gangtok – Nathu – la highway. The lake has been opened to Tourists
only recently. Cameras are not allowed to carry on this route. Its cool,
placid water is in the perfect harmony with the scenic beauty around. A
little distance from the lake is a beautiful natural three storeyed cave,
the Tseten Tashi cave is a worth to visit. Overnight at Hotel in Gangtok
Day 09 Gangtok – Kalimpong
After breakfas
t
leave for Kalimpong,. 78 kilo meters from Gangtok is situated a quiet resort
town, called Kalimpong and is ideal for those who cannot stand the high
altitudes. It is such a small place theat one can go round walking to see
different places. The places of interest are the Scottish Mission Church
and Dr. Graham’ home. Overnight at Himalayan Hotel.
Day 10 Kalimpong – Silliguri – Bhadrapur
– Kathmandu
After breakfast we leave for Silliguri on the way to Bhadrapur – the border
town of Nepal. Silliguri is 65 Kilo meters from Kalimpong and Bhadrapur
is about 35 kilo meters from Silliguri. From Bhadrapur we take a flight
to Kathmandu.
On arrival check in to Hotel Yak & Yeti. After lunch we start the city
tour of Kathmandu visiting the temple of the living Goddess, Pashupatinath,
the Holiest Hindu Shrine in Neapl, Bodhnath, a Buddhist Temple, built 2500
years ago, Hanuman Dhoka and the surrounding temples and bazaars. Dinner
and overnight at hotel.
Day 11
After breakfast we start excursion to Patan- the ancient city – a storeshore
of medieval art and architecture with many Hindu and Buddhist temples, all
elaborately carved and ornamented. It is also Nepal’s city of metals. Lunch
at Hotel and afternoon excursion to Bhatgaon, the city of Folk dances in
the hotel auditorium-cum-restaurant and have dinner at the same restaurant.
You can try your luck at CASINO in hotel. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 12 After b
reakfast
we leave for Kathmandu airport to connect flight to Pokhra. On arrival check
in to Hotel Fish tail lodge located on the banks of beautiful lake Phewa
. After lunch we start the sightseeing tour of Pokhra valley visiting Mahendra
caves and boating at lake Phewa. Evening watch cultural programme at hotel
alongwith dinner. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 13 After early breakfast drive to
Royal Chitwan National Park, after about 4 hours we check in to Chitwan
Jungle Lodge. After lunch we go for Jungle activities. Dinner and overnight
at the lodge.
Day 14 After breakfast we again go for
jungle activities. After noon free, Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 15 After breakfast drive to Kathmandu,
on arrival check into Hotel Yak and Yeti. Dinner & overnight at Hotel.
Day 16 After breakfast drive to Kathmandu
for your journey back home.
