Drive Through Buddhist Kingdom

Day 01 – 02: Depart Home
Depart Home city for the Capital of India. Depending on your departure city, an involuntarily transit overnight may be necessary in either Europe or the Orient.

Day 03: Arrive Delhi
Namaste! Welcome to New Delhi – You are greeted the traditional way and transferred to your hotel.

Day 04 : Delhi
Day tour of Old and New Delhi includes Jama Masjid, Red Fort, India Gate, Parliament Buildings, Birla Mandir, Gandhi memorial and experience the Bazaar at Chandni Chowk.
 

Day 05 : Delhi/Chandigarh
After breakfast drive to Chandigarh a 5 hours drive 248 km. Check in to hotel and afternoon tour of Chandigarh - joint capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana. Chandigarh is the only planned city of modern India being architectural marvel of Le Corbusier, the famous French architect. The city tour includes visit to the world acclaimed rock-garden, Sukhana Lake and Rose Garden. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06 : Chandigarh/Dharamshala
After breakfast drive to Dharamsala a 7 hrs. beautiful drive. After arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 : Dharamshala
After breakfast we start the tour of Dharamshala. Dharamshala is the capital in exile of H.H. The Dalai Lama the former ruler of Tibet. The sightseeing tour includes visit to Tibetan Handicrafts centre, the residence of H.H. The Dalai Lama and possibly an audience with The Dalai Lama.

Day 08 : Dharamshala/ManaliAfter breakfast drive to Manali a 7 hrs.beautiful and scenic drive along the river Beas. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09 : Manali
After breakfast visit Hadimba Devi Temple, set within dense pine forest and to Naggar Castle. Afternoon free to explore Manali valley or optional tour to Roerich’s – (the world famous Russian artist) art gallery.

Day 10 : Manali/Darcha
After breakfast drive to Darcha (3400m/147kms) takes about 6 hrs. over the Rohtang –La pass (3980 m). Overnight in camp at Darcha

Day 11 : Darcha/Pang
After breakfast drive to Pang (4,630 m/163 kms) takes about 9 hrs. over the Baralacha La (4892 m) and Lachalang La (5065 m) with the fabulous desolate mountain scenery. Overnight in Camp at Pang.

Day 12 : Pang/Leh
After breakfast drive to Leh (3505 m/172 kms) takes about 9hrs, over the incredibly high pass of Tanglang La (5360 m). Arrive Leh and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13 : Leh
After breakfast sightseeing to Stok Palace and museum, Shankar monastery and Leh Palace. Overnight in Leh.

Day 14 : Leh/Alchi
After breakfast sightseeing to Lamayuru monastery and Alchi Gompa. Overnight in Alchi at Alchi Resort.

Day 15 : Alchi/Leh
After breakfast drive back to Leh, enroute visit to Basgo Fort and Spituk Gompa. Overnight in hotel.

Day 16 : Leh
After breakfast sightseeing to Hemis, Thiksey & Shey monasteries. Overnight at hotel.

Day 17 : Leh/Delhi
After breakfast drive to the airport in time to connect flight to Delhi. On arrival check in to the Hotel.

Day 18 : Delhi/Home
Drive in time to the airport to connect flight to your Home or next destination.
