DAY
01 ARRIVE DELHI
The capital of India, and one of the oldest cities in the world. Special
meet and assist service on arrival and transfer to your hotel for overnight.
DAY 02 DELHI
Morning after breakfast city sightseeing Tour of New Delhi and Old Delhi,
visiting the War Memorial Arch-India Gate, Parliament House, Qutub Minar
– built in the 12th Century, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Rajghat,
where the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, and Chandni
Chowk, the oldest and busiest bazar of Old Delhi. In the evening witness
the Sound and Light Show at the Red Fort, one of the best performance in
the world. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 03 DELHI – SARISKA
Following an early breakfast board the private coach/car for a five-hour
drive south of Delhi to Sariska. Before entering the reserve check into
the hotel, a 19th century hunting palace, constructed by the Maharajah of
Alwar. Its beautiful marble, he halls, and rose gardens give you the feeling
of a faded glory. Afternoon enter Sariska Wildlife Reserve, 315 square miles
of national park encompassing tall cliffs and hills with wide lowland plateaus.
Dry, deciduous forests with a ground cover of low grasses are found on the
slopes. Since no grazing is permitted and little wood is collected, over
burdened lands give way at the reserve borders to beautiful forest abounding
with large numbers of deer including Nilgai, Sambar (elk – like animal),
and Chital. You can also see numerous herds of hoofed animals, leopard,
Jungle Cat, Mongoose and Wild Boar.
DAY 04 SARISKA - JAIPUR
As the morning sun warms the east facing cliffs, hundreds of vultures, including
Griffon, Indian White-backed, and even the great King or Black Vulture,
take off from their nesting lodges to soar on the updrafts, we visit the
Jungle once again. We return to the Hotel for Breakfast and Lunch. After
Lunch depart for Jaipur, the capital of the state of RAJASTHAN. Enroute
we take an Elephant ride up a switchback road through the great gates of
mighty Amber Fort. The mirrored domes, mosaics, sculptures, and ivory inlaid
panels make this palace truly remarkable. JAIPUR also called the Pink city
because of the pink color of the buildings, is picturesquely situated in
the heart of Rajasthan surrounded on all sides except on the south by rugged
hills crowned with medieval fortresses, transfer to your hotel for overnight.
DAY 05 JAIPUR – RANTHAMBHORE
Morning city sightseeing of Jaipur visiting the City Palace, Mubarak Hall,
Chandra Mahal and Pothikhana which house a rare collection of paintings
and manuscripts as well as the museum of Arms and armory. Also visit Jantar
Mantar – Jai Singh’s observatory and the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds.
Afternoon proceed to Ranthambhore Tiger Preserve – 153 square miles in size
and is surrounded by high cliffs capped with ancient ruins. It is Rajasthan’s
first Project Tiger Reserve and named after a 1000 year old fort which stands
in the park. The tiger and the leopard are the main predators found in the
reserve. One can see the hyena and jackal, which are the scavengers of the
Sloth Bear and wild Boar. The main herbivores found in the reserve are Sambhar
Deer, Nilgai (Blue Bull), Antelopar, Indian Gazelle and the Common Langur,
Chinkara. Overnight at the Hotel.
DAY 06 RANTHAMBORE
TIGER RESERVE full day viewing the wild life in Ranthambhore Sanctuary by
jeep accompanied by an experienced naturalist. The great variety of birdlife
found in Ranthambhore is evident at sunrise. We will thoroughly witness
the wild life of Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and
overnight at the Hotel.
DAY 07 RANTHAMBHORE-BHARATPUR
Morning after breakfast depart for Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and on arrival
transfer to your Forest Lodge. Also called Keoladeo National Park which
was created over 100 years ago by the Maharajah of Bharatpur, who put on
extravagant duck hunts. Today, the sanctuary is known as one of the greatest
and best bird Sanctuaries in the world. Nearly 350 species of birds have
been found within the 12 square mile preserve. It is not uncommon for birders
to see more than 100 species per day. It is a huge rookery ground for many
water birds and is an important over-wintering ground for others, including
Siberian Crane. Afternoon witness the Bird Sanctuary, Overnight at your
forest Lodge.
DAY 08 BHARATPUR-AGRA
Morning again witness the Bird Sanctuary and afternoon proceed to Agra,
the home of the world famous TAJ MAHAL, best described as ‘poetry in marble’
because of its beauty, grace and exquisite workmanship. Overnight at your
hotel.
DAY 09 AGRA-DELHI
Morning city sightseeing tour of Agra visiting the TAJ MAHAL built by the
Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1630 as a memorial to his beloved Queen Mumtaj
Mahal. Surely it is the greatest monument of love, and truly one of the
seven wonders of the world. Also visit Agra Fort-built by Emperor Akbar,
standing opposite the Taj on the banks of the Yamuna river, which contains
a wealth of palaces and monuments that recall the days of Mughal splendors.
Late afternoon proceed to Delhi and on arrival transfer to your hotel. Overnight
at your hotel.
DAY 10 DELHI-JABALPUR-KANHA
Transfer to the airport by private vehicle in time to board the flight for
Jabalpur. On arrival in Jabalpur drive by car/coach to Kanha National Park
– situated in the sylvan surroundings of Satpura Hill ranges. It is the
best and biggest National Park in India and is an ideal location for tiger
viewing. On arrival in the Park check in at the forest Lodge. You have the
rest of the day to explore the surrounding area. Overnight at the Forest
Lodge.
DAY 11 KANHA
Full day witness the Wild Life by elephant or Jeep in the Kanha Forest,
the only place to see the Hard Hoofed sub-species of Swamp Deer (Bara Singha).
The park is especially known for the Tiger and Chital spotted deer. Other
animals to be seen are the Black Buck, Indian Bison, Barking Deer, Sambhar,
Leopard, Hyena and Jackals. Overnight at the Forest Lodge.
DAY 12 KANHA
Another full day of witnessing the wild life in the Kanha National Park
by elephant/Jeep or mini coach. Overnight at the forest lodge.
DAY 13 KANHA/JABALPUR/DELHI
Transfer by private vehicle to Jabalpur in time to catch the flight to Delhi.
On arrival in Delhi transfer to your hotel for overnight.
DAY 14
Early morning transfer to the airport in time to board the flight for back
home.
