Tour Highlights
It is generally said that marriages are made in Heaven. True, but has any one thought over the reason why most of the marriages in the western countries, in Europe and America do not last longer and the rate of divorce cases is very high? Why the marriages performed in India according to Hindu Religion last longer and the couples are separated only by death of one of the partners? What is the reason even after the death of one partner the other partner does not marry again. Is it love only for each other or some thing else? We do not say that there are no divorces in India or people do not re-marry. The percentage of such cases is hardly five percent.
After studying a number of cases where the couples in India have gone for divorce or for mutual separation and even in cases where one of the partners died of an untimely death because of an accident, we found the reason was that the couple was not married according to Hindu Religion and also not on an auspicious day and time and no matching study of the Kundl or Janam Patri of the couple was made. A Kundli or Janam Patri is a detailed chart of a person which is made by a learned astrologer keeping in view the position of the heavenly stars at the time of Birth. In India when ever the parents find that there is some problem with their son or daughter, be it the problem of education or career or marriage, people go to the Astrologer with the Kundli or Janam Patri for the solution of their problems. Thus Kundli or Janam Patri forms the very basis of one’s life in India.
In nutshell, if one wants to be successful in life and to lead a successful married life, one must have Kundli or Janam Patri andsame must be shown to a learned astrologer before getting married. The couple should get married only if the astrologer approves and that too on the date and time given by the astrologer, because after studying every aspect only then the astrologer comes out with an auspicious date and time.
Now when the date and time of marriage is fixed, should the pair get married at any place and as per any religion? Our reply is No, No, No. Why NO ? Because for a long lasting marriage the marriage must be performed according to Hindu Religion.
We are sure that some of the readers will get disappointed because they don’t have any Kundli or Janam Patri. For getting married in India in Indian style the bride and bridegroom must arrive India at least 4 days before the marriage as there are a number of auspicious rituals to be performed before the marriage and also minimum one week after the marriage is required for Honeymoon
Nowhere else is a marriage as likely to be more romantic or majestic. It is an occasion when the bride and groom truly thinVarmala at Marriagek themselves royal . Normally the wedding takes place the bride’s house to which the bridegroom comes accompanied with a large barat or procession. The groom rides to the bride’s house astride a white mare and the regalia of a prince, complete with sword. The bride waits for the bridegroom in bridal makeup attired in a red dress normally a saree ( about 6 yards in length) or wearing a very heavily embroidered Lehanga ( some thing resembling a skirt) and top. On arrival of the bridegroom, he is welcomed by the father, brothers and other relatives of the bride. Thereafter the ceremonies began with the Garlanding of the bridegroom first by the bride and later the bridegroom garlands the bride. Then a lavish dinner is served and the bride’s family is responsible for the hospitality. After the dinner the real marriage ceremony begins which normally lasts for at least 1 hour. In this ceremony a learned priest performs the ceremony by speaking holy phrases in Sanskrit language and the bride and bridegroom have to take seven rounds of the holy fire which is lit especially for this purpose. After this the bridegroom applies vermallion powder at the forehead of the bride and also presents the bride with a Gold Necklace studded with black beeds. This Necklace is called Mangalsutra which the bride never takes off & it is a sign that the girl is married. Thereafter the couple is officially declared married and the girl leaves for the boy’s place in a car decorated with flowers.
We give below a suggested itinerary for a marriage as per Hindu Religion.
